Wuawuas Pizzeria
The project began in 2017 with the remodeling of the basement, which now houses the restaurant/café, run by Alicia Durán-Ballén. Parents and volunteers participated in the reconstruction, and mothers and former members of the foundation received training. The restaurant, open Tuesday through Saturday, provides employment for parents and generates funds to support Casa Victoria projects, benefiting children from homework, Victorious, and volunteers. The project also supports needy youth in the San Roque community and surrounding neighborhoods, helping the foundation achieve self-sufficiency.
Our History with the Café-Pizzeria
In 2016, our 40-day crowdfunding campaign enabled the Casa Victoria Foundation to transform its basement into Wuawuas Pizzeria, thanks to the generosity of our donors. The image above shows the beautiful result of this effort.
Today, Wuawuas Pizzeria is a vibrant space where the community can enjoy delicious pizza, socialize, and support our children—all in one place!

"Luigi," Luis Santos, is the soul of WUAWUAS, the neighborhood pizzeria, where he serves customers with a smile. The father of a daughter who attended Casa Victoria eight years ago, his path crossed with Francis Malan, a former Casa Victoria student, and Radu Gheorghita, who trained him as a chef since they opened the pizzeria seven years ago. Today, Luigi not only serves delicious pizzas, but he's also an example of how opportunity and dedication can transform lives. All in a good slice of pizza!
